Pains of pregnancy...

Well, I am at that point now (with 5 weeks to go) where I am ready to meet our little one! I am starting to feel a bit pregnant now, where I don't sleep much and my back hurts, but I am definitely not as big as I had envisioned. I really thought I would be carrying a bigger weight by this point, so it makes me think baby is on the small side. Nonetheless, I am trying to eat smaller frequent meals with snacks in between, so baby gets more nourishment. Our next appt is next Thursday (May 27) where we will have our last ultrasound and the dr. will examine me to see where baby is. Hopefully, we will have an idea on how big he or she is, so I know what to expect in labor.

Matt and I plan on making a mold of my belly before baby arrives, and I am pretty excited about that. You can paper mache a mold of your belly and have it painted to hang on the wall of the nursery. We also need to have the car seat bases installed in the vehicles and pack our hospital bags. Other than that, I think we are ready.

We were even lucky enough to have yet another baby shower thrown for us by Matt's employer Transocean last Thursday. We were again showered with love and baby gifts and we really enjoyed ourselves. They bought us a multitude of wonderful things, including our high chair, some ATM gear, bottles, and the usual baby things. Transocean was really good to us.

Once we buy our stroller, we are set! It's just a waiting game. Come on baby!

Bring a towel!

Well, it's shower time. Well, it WAS shower time, and man, did we get spoiled! It came and went, but was worth the wait. We had 3 lovely showers all given by wonderful family and friends. It was a pregnant woman's dream! We had such fun; the gifts, the company, the food and drinks were all terrific! This is how it all went down. :)

The Final shower

Sunday, May 2nd

hostesses were: Stephanie Wright Williams, Jennifer Wright Scholes, Lauren Wright, Caylin Wright, Jole Talasek Holchak, and Lizzie Dresner Strain. This shower was my family shower.

I had such great family surrounding me including Kay Cole, Mary Lou Birkner (AKA Aunt Goober), Quitta Coleman, Marla & Quinn Menard, Karen and Claudia Wright, GranSam (of course), my mom, sister, mother-in-law, and a few friends as well. It was so much fun. Stephanie opened her house to us (she sent her husband and I sent mine to play golf) while us girls partied! I received my pack n play, our swing, LOTS of baby clothes, an activity play center for Baby E and other great things. We devoured some vanilla cupcakes, had some "fun" punch, and really had an enjoyable time.

Friends, Family, and fun!

Saturday, April 24th

hostesses were: Madalene McRae, ShaVonne Pustejovsky Tracy, Mimi Bailey, Tamera Ewing, Reata Knieriemen, and Melisa Childers.

Shower was thrown at the lovely home of ShaVonne Tracy. I had lots of friends and family in attendance, and the food and cake was incredible! The hostesses also gave me our car seat as a gift, so now we can actually leave the hospital when Baby E arrives! We got our diaper genie and clothes and pacifiers and tons of great useful baby things. I really appreciate my friends and thank them all for doing such a knock-out job! It was a beautiful shower!

Who wants to change some diapers????

Saturday, April 17th.
Tammy Wissing, Caroline Wissing, Kelly Hernandez, Emily Masterson, and Elizabeth Mueller

This shower was a "couples" diaper shower at the amazing home of Kelly & Luis Hernandez. We registered for G Diapers (http://www.gdiapers.com/) so we had tons of diapers to bring home! The games were also a hit! The hostesses made the boys drink out of a bottle (let's just say Wayne and Matt did NOT win). Then Matt had to hit a pinata blindfolded. Although, Matt has a terrific left-handed swing, it did take him a while! Then everyone had to guess about our birth places, our favorite foods as kids, and other fun questions. It really was a fun party!

So, as you can imagine, we are feeling slightly overwhelmed with love and happiness from all of my wonderful family and friends God has blessed us with . What a problem, huh?! We really were showered with great wishes and good luck and incredible gifts. Let's just hope all these wonderful people are up for 2 am feedings!

28 weeks along....

Hello all! Haven't written in quite some time as luckily nothing is going on. Baby is kicking more and more, which I love, and the dr. says that's just fine.

I had my 28 week appt today (my last monthly appt) and also had my sugar test done. I had to drink a mini water bottle full of glucose juice (orange flavored) within 5 minutes and then wait an hr until they take some blood. They check for gestational diabetes (which I really don't think I have), but it's a formality.

My next appointments are every two weeks now, so I will be back April 13 for just a check-up. After the 34 week mark, I will have to go weekly. The baby will really be here before we know it!

My blood pressure was 120/70 and baby's heartbeat today (he/she must have been snoozing) was 143. Baby definitely woke up after the sugar drink. I finally felt some hiccups as well. That was a really cool feeling.

Hope everyone is doing well. Pretty soon, we will all know what I have brewing in here...boy or girl. Happy Easter everyone!!!

Love, Lindsey + Baby E.
